The Hamam is buried deep in the essence of Turkish bath culture. A place where Sultans and Princesses could cleanse the mind, body and soul through beautiful bathing rituals. At Shang Du, we have created an Imperial Palace Hamam that has never been seen before. A place where you can take a step back in time and immerse yourself in a truly luxurious bathing experience.

Before entering the Hamam each guest is requested to take a shower. Fresh cotton pestemals are provided as part of the ritual to provide modesty during your body scrub. Our Tellek (masseuse) will guide you to the warm marble plinthe where you will lie down and relax for a few minutes to allow stimulation of the circulation. Your body is thoroughly cleansed by the rubbing action of the silk mitt. Your Tellek will create a ‘soapy foam’ all over your body using our special soap. The body is finally rinsed with warm water using the traditional hamam copper bowl.

After your treatment, you will be guided to the Imperial Garden or Relaxation Areas as you wish. As you relax, perhaps you would like to see our spa bar menu for a delicious selection of healthy spa snacks and fresh beverages.
